Scale-up asset manager OMS delivery
From spreadsheets to a working order management system
Iter Orior was brought in to assist a growing startup asset manager who had a requirement to transition from spreadsheet-based operations to an order management system (OMS). This was to support an expansion in its fund range.
After a comprehensive evaluation of available options in the market for open-source and "freemium" OMS, it was determined that none met the requirements. Subsequently, in collaboration with the client, we devised a practical solution.
This solution involved implementing a cloud-based approach using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and the Oracle Autonomous Database. We also established a basic front-end interface using Microsoft Access. Our process included transferring data from spreadsheets to form a foundational OMS, ensuring a functional starting point for further development by the client.
